Rick O’Connor, Executive Director
Rick is the Executive Director at RapidIO.org. Possessing a unique combination of business and technical skills, Rick has particular strengths in market development; extensive semiconductor and system level knowledge; leading business teams and new product development from concept to deployment; and extensive contacts across the industry. Rick has strong interpersonal and presentation skills and has been a regular speaker at key industry forums with frequent interaction with industry and financial analysts. Over Rick’s 25+ year career, he has launched dozens of products accounting for over $500 million in revenues.
A founding member of the senior management team at Tundra Semiconductor, Rick played a key role over a 15 year period in the overall growth of Tundra serving as the chief technology officer and vice president of strategic marketing. In this role, he drove overall corporate strategy and innovation within Tundra and was responsible for delivering next-generation products to manufacturers in the embedded market. Rick initiated and lead multi-million dollar M&A transactions with Motorola Semiconductor (now Freescale), IBM Microelectronics, Intel and Texas Instruments. Prior to Tundra, he worked as a Project Engineer in the Avionics industry for five years and as a Design Engineer in the Aerospace industry for three years.
Rick received an Executive MBA degree in 1996 from the University of Ottawa. In 1984, he graduated with honors from the faculty of Electronics Engineering Technology at Algonquin College.

Sue Leininger, Community Manager and Board Secretariat
Sue Leininger is RapidIO’s community manager and serves on the board of directors as Secretariat. She is an experienced marcom executive with a HUB-certified consulting business. She has taught classes in advertising, media and marketing at the university level and is currently a faculty member at Concordia University teaching Technical/Business Writing. Sue is a published and award-winning writer as well as an editor for various forms of technical communication. Her writings appear on various online business sites, blogs and e-zines.
Professional affiliations include a membership with the Texas Society of Association Executives and the International Radio and Television Society. Sue received a B.A. in Communications from Brigham Young University and a M.A. in Technical Communication from Texas State University.
